Glad you like Scrivener. The root folder thing has been a bug-bear of many users, and it has been addressed for 1.0 (remember that Scrivener Gold is just a freeware release of an early beta). In version 1.0, there will only be three default root folders: Draft, Research and Trash. These can be renamed, and you can create any number of your own root folders if you so wish. The reason there has to be a Draft and Research folder is simple: the Draft folder determines what text will be merged in export; the Research folder is the default location for any imported media files (because the Draft is text-only). Hopefully, users will find 1.0 much less restrictive. All the best, Keith
