Hello folks,
I know some of you were getting nervous about the expiry date of the current beta drawing to a close. Fear not. As promised, the current version of the Scrivener beta is hereby made freeware. 0.21b is nearly identical to 0.20b (barring two very minor bug fixes) except that it no longer has a time limitation on it - you can use it for as long as you wish. I have dubbed it "Scrivener Gold" to differentiate it from Scrivener 1.0, towards which I am still working.
Scrivener Gold is really just a big THANK YOU to all of the beta testers who have taken to Scrivener and who use it regularly for their writing projects. Scrivener is undergoing some rather radical changes, so this freeware release really frees me up to concentrate on that in several ways:
1) It marks the end of active development on the current beta. All development is now focussed on the new interface (actually, all of the interface elements are finished, it's just putting it altogether that is going to take the time from here on in).
2) It gives beta testers a stable version to continue with until the next version is ready, which may be some time yet.
3) It frees me up to make some radical changes, because anybody who doesn't like the next version can always stick to Scrivener Gold.
Anyway, without further ado, here it is:

All the best,

BUG FIXES IN 0.21b (Scrivener Gold)
---------------------------------------------
- Storyboard could hang if the synopsis was automatically generated from text containing an image (fixed).
- In rare cases, the binder could be overwritten as blank if the file was moved between machines and could not be opened because of permissions problems.
Miscellaneous alterations
------------------------------
- Storyboard selection now uses rounded rectangles.
- Icon has been changed to gold to reflect status as Scrivener Gold.
- Preferences have been cut down to include only those that have actually been implemented.
