A great feature of Ulysses (at least for me), is that it will read back the text that you select. I love doing this because you can hear what you typed in, instead of reading it back (and making the fatal mistake of reading what you thought you wrote instead of what you really wrote).
From a programming perspective, OSX provides the ability to do this fairly easily. Try it in Ulysses and you'll see why I like it.

You can do this by selecting text, ctrl-clicking and selecting "Speech > Start speaking" (I like it too). That said, you are right that this should be more obviously available in the main menu - overhauling the menus and making sure that everything is available is on the "to do" list. Thanks, Keith
