If I type a URL outside of the actual text I'm writing (i.e. in places/people/research), it would be really nice if turned into a link automatically.
If I can really dream, having the ability to enter textile text and getting it formatted would rock my world.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "outside of the text" you are writing. You mean as a document title? At the moment you can add a link in the TextEdit way by going to Text > Link. Personally I don't like it when addresses get turned into links automatically, because I don't always want them as links...

Not sure what you mean by "textile text" - could you explain more? Thanks, Keith

OK - I was up way too late and didn't make any sense "Outside of the actual text" - if it's not part of the story I'm writing. I.e. not in the draft folder. In my story, I don't want links to be hyperlinks. In my research, that would be extremely helpful. "textile" text - textile is a form of plain text markup that I much prefer to writing HTML. I.e. if you enclose text with "*", it's getting italicized. If I indent a line and prefix it with a dash, it's part of an enumeration. And so on. The kind of markup you use on the wiki, in plain text e-mails, etc. It's a minor thing, and you shouldn't waste too much thought on it. I *love* (see - used the stars..) Scrivener for writing. If it would extend its arms into the formatting world, that would be a nice extra. Maybe a preview mode? Or a plugin interface so I could just do it myself?

I'm very glad to hear that you like Scrivener. I think this is something for a future release - not for 1.0, but maybe 1.5 or 2.0. Note that you can already add hyperlinks by going to Text > Link, and following another user's suggestion I am going to offer a similar feature for linking between documents within the project. Automatic formatting as you suggest though is out of my scope for now. Thanks! Keith
