Scrivener v0.1.2b Mac OS X 10.4.3
I know that there is still work to be done on state saving, but I wanted to make sure this wasn't forgotten, because it's really annoying.
Most of my writing for NaNo has been done in the Binder view, opening up a separate text editor window for each chapter as I start it. The annoyance is that the new editor window always shows up as this tiny window at some arbitrary location.
The first thing I do with a new editor window therefore is move it to the top left and then resize it to fill most (but not all) of the screen. There are things on the right had side of my desktop which I do not want to cover, so maximise doesn't help much here.
The thing is that I have to do this resize operation every time I open one of these editor windows: the last editor window size/location is not persisted even for the same document.
What I would like is for the size and location of the separate editor window to be remembered and carried forward to other documents. Actually, the ideal behaviour would be a bit richer than that even:
1/ each document remembers where its separate editor window was last and reopens another such window in the same place
2/ documents which don't have existing editor window settings default to the last location used to open such a window.
This would speed things up when starting a new chapter because I could just get writing instead of farting around with window resizing.

I have moved this topic, because this is not a bug but a feature suggestion. The current behaviour is pretty standard - see DevonThink, Xcode, and various other project managers/editors.
That said, I do like your suggestion and have added it to the "to do" list. In the future, newly-opened editor windows will take on the size of the editor window that was last resized, and this will be remembered between sessions. This should be fairly easy to implement.
Thanks, Keith

Fair enough. I assumed it was a bit of behaviour mixed in with the state saving.
Glad to hear it will likely be implemented: I am already pretty committed to Scrivener as a tool, but that single feature addition would improve things greatly for me.

I'll try to get it into the next beta, but no promises. It should certainly be a sooner-rather-than-later addition, though.

I should say thank you, though, for persisting the text zoom into the separate editor window in the latest beta. That has already speeded up my workflow.

...and I implemented the saved-editor-window-size thing today, so you will see it in the next beta.
