Just been working with this app for a day but password protection would be a nice feature. Am I overlooking something that already exists?

There is no built in encryption system in Scrivener. If you need security now, I would suggest doing what I use. I make a small (128MB) disk image with encryption turned on, give it a 32 character passphrase, store that in the keychain, and then put all of my private documents in there. You can work right off of this disk image at full speed, and when you are done just unmount it. This is not the most secure method, of course. If you want absolute security you'll opt to not store the passphrase in the keychain. I only do that for one of my "crypts," the one that has sensitive information such as financials and legal.

Password protection is certainly a good idea, and I will consider it - though not for 1.0, as I have now locked the feature set that will go into the first release (if I didn't, there would never *be* a first release ). Maybe in a post-1.0 update... Thanks, Keith
