Hi Keith. Just getting started with the Scrivener beta. Looks very good. But, In Compose mode, with Split screen (horizontal): When you enter Split screen, the same document is now open in both panes, with the focus and cursor in the lower pane. If you click in the upper pane you can then type there; fine. If you then click on another document in the left column, it does not open in the top pane (where your cursor is, and where you expect) but in the bottom pane. It is as if the top pane is not fully active. The only way to open a different document in the top pane is to drag it into the navigation bar above the pane. Worse, with two documents open, in horizontal panes, I managed to crash the program by the following: Compose mode with doc A Open split screen Open doc B (by dragging into upper pane nav bar) Open info to get Synopsis and Notes Click in lower pane, enter Synopsis and notes; OK Click in upper, enter synopsis=OK, enter notes=crash. I have not been able to reproduce this; I'll keep trying (but i can send you the report info the system generated if you like).

The crash log would be useful - this may be related to the other drawer-editing bug that has been reported (or at least, I hope so).
As for the behaviour you are seeing in the panes, this is expected behaviour. The left or bottom pane is what is affected by the binder. The other pane is controlled by dragging. I think this is more consistent, as you always know which pane is going to be affected by the binder. If a number of users disagree, I will re-consider this, but at the moment I like this behaviour.
Thanks, KB
