I don't see this on the ToDo, hopefully not a repeat.
I've been going through the Tutorial, and two things. First, in Step 8, it has you switch to Split-Screen mode. I take it from the instructions that the top pane should have been empty, but when I did it, Step 8 was in both document windows.
Also, and I don't know if this is a bug or intended, but when switching Views, your current document doesn't necessarily come with you. ie, for Step 8 I switched to Compose View. But when I switched back to Binder, I was still in Step 7. Shouldn't the current document remain fixed, even between views?
I guess I can see an argument for having it behave both ways.

And I see the split-pane thing has already been reported, so nevermind about that one.

This is all intended behaviour. I changed the behaviour of the split pane between writing the tutorial and releasing the beta - my bad for not updating the tutorial. I did this so that the shortcut keys make sense; now, in Compose mode, you can hit Shift-Cmd-H to get a horizontal split of the document you are working on (or Shift-Cmd-V to get a vertical split).
It is also intentional that the document doesn't follow you between views. I think this makes more sense, because otherwise the app may be making too many assumptions about your intentions, but will review it if too many people disagree. I don't know; maybe it does make sense for the document to follow you between views. I'll think about it.
Thanks, KB

Whew ... glad to know I'm not the only one to spot this discrepancy. Before logging in here tonight I also tried to reproduce it in a 'real' doc instead of the tutorial, and it worked that way consistently.
Definitely would be good to change the tutorial text on that item, LOL! (eventually, eventually)

I would like to chime in on a vote for "inconsistency" between views. I like the current behaviour, in that the documents I am working with in Binder, may not be the documents I wish to be working with in Composer, or the place I wish to be working in with Draft and StoryBoard. It would annoy me if the application assumed as much.
